    Marie Antoinette Attitude
    & Drake Feelings

We will make this sweet and quick because damn! I got things to do!

2016 has been a wild ride for me. Turning 30 in July was something I have been scared of for many years, when I was in my 20s I often caught myself worrying about things. About my life, how I felt like a failure, heartache, lost battles, wrong turns and unfulfilled hopes. I was scared of turning 30 cause I was scared of being in this state forever. But as closer I got to turning 30 years old the better my life got. Here are 30 things I learned by turning 30 and that hopefully help you a little no matter in what sage in life you are right now.

1. My moms advice is based on years of life experience.

2. Not everyone likes me, but not everyone matters.

3. Feelings, specially bad ones are only temporary.

4. There's nothing more important than being Comfortable in your own skin.

5. Saying „No" to activities and events that I don’t want to go to, makes more time for things I rather be doing.

6. Putting the phone down while you talk to someone means a lot nowadays.

7. My Grandma was the best cook and I should learn to cook like her.

8. Asking for help is not a weakness.

9. Rest is important in order to be productive.

10. Comparing myself to others will get me nowhere.

11. The Importance of getting out of the city! It's like vacation for my head.

12. I'm not too old for midnight swims.

13. When I’m not feeling something 100%, I shouldn’t force myself to do anything but take care of myself.

14. Work smarter not harder.

15. Creating a routine is important - Specially for breakfasts.

16. Matte lip stains are not for everyone.

17. My parents are actually pretty cool!

18. Money is not everything.

19. Sending hand-written thank you cards is incredibly meaningful.

20. When to let go.

21. Sometimes all you need is ice cream, or a good cocktail, or both.

22. A title never determines my self-worth.

23. A mother’s love is everything.

24. drinking 2l of water a day makes your skin glow!

25. Loving yourself is a challenge but it's worth it.

26. Listening to DJ Khaled Snapchats in the morning is actually really motivating haha...

27. Listening to Drake after you got out of bed makes the whole day a great one.

29. Allowing others to educate you and apologizing if you did wrong.

30. All the crap I went through in my 20s taught me the most valuable lessons. Like, that bad times will pass, I know this because I have seen it happen before and time made me really appreciate what I have. My circle got a bit smaller after I started dropping toxic people in my life so that the friends who are still around are definitely quality. Things that made me cringe & literally want to disappear into a hole in the ground are now stories that I laugh about with my friends and I might still have cake or pastry for breakfast sometimes or binge watch my favorite TV shows but my apartment feels like a home and not like a dorm room anymore. And as I watched the fireworks the night before my 30th birthday, it finally felt right. Yes I made it. I (kind of) got my shit together. I am where I want to be in life.

Today is the last day of the year I turned 30. I remember another big step was my 16th birthday. I just came back from Lake Michigan and sat in the Garden making wishes for my 16th year on this planet, which I imagined to be the most amazing year ever. I wanted to see blink 182 live, I wanted to get a tracksuit like the one Jlo as wearing in the "I'm real" video and I wanted to travel. I look back at this with a smile. I really loved making plans for the future so I want to end this blog and this year with sharing some of my plans for 2017 with you:

1. Go on a camping trip with my family
2. Brush up my French
3. Get fit and eat more healthy
4. Go to a relaxing vacation trip
5. Do laundry before 10pm
6. Blog more
7. Learn to properly wrap a present
8. Learn to do the perfect winged liner
9. Work on my online shop
10. Put my phone away during meals

Thank you for reading and cheers to you, to 2017 and to everything we have learned

What I got for Christmas

2016-12-30 19:14

It was a little difficult for me to do this post because I really wanted to share the amazing things I got but I did not want to make and endless post of Every. Little. Thing. That I got but on the other hand I did not want to come off as this entitled brat that only shows the big stuff since I am most certainly as thankful and happy about a pair of socks from my mother or a pair of chopsticks as I am for something that could be considered a luxury item.

So to be clear, this is not a list of items that I liked the most, for example my friend Kyra sent me things that mean the world to me but except for emotional things I can not really say much about them that you could benefit from. That's why I though showing you the things that would make a great blog post but would only give very thin content if I would cover them alone, makes the most sense.

It's a mix of everything I spend my free time on such as lolita, makeup and cooking but also little things that make life just a little more cozy.

restoring my old makeup table

2016-12-28 05:32

I have been wanting to restore my little rococo console for a while now, you can see in my instagram post above that it was a little yellowed and I honestly thought it was kinda boring to look at. It was actually one thing of my 30 things I want to do while being 30 list (that I post about soon)

so in summer my step father helped me smoothing it down and polishing it.
I picked a cold icy blue as a color and was first a little sad about how it looked like while it was wet but when it dried down it got a bit darker and dried into this really amazing, bonbon-candy color

We had it dry an entire day before I took it home with me, when you restore something I recommend doing it during the summer time and at a place where you can leave it outside overnight, thats why I chose to do it at my mothers place since she has a huge garden and a working atelier.

It is obviously too small to be my makeup table but I am trying to make it work, now that I set it up I want to do the chair in the same color or a dusty pink. I am still searching for a pretty mirror, preferably with a ring light, like the one we have in the main bathroom. Maybe something really modern so it gives a nice contrast of old and new.

Easy DIY Christmas Tree Decor

Easy DIY Christmas Tree Decor

I am SO tired but SO happy,
we celebrated a wonderful Christmas evening yesterday and continued this morning with even ore presents and a hug breakfast.
We went out for Dinner tonight and I had a couple of cocktails, now The family is eater asleep or playing video games and I’'m kind of in a food delirium watching Anna Karenina.

The year is almost over and I have really been looking forward to the days off work between Christmas and New Years to re-charge, relax, spend time with y loved ones and to blog of course.

I am not a great blogger but I just love sharing photos, so I thought a Winter Wonder Week with lots of smaller blogposts would be great for that!

Easy DIY Christmas Tree Decor
I want to start with a tiny DIY Christmas tree deco idea I had. This year is the first year we have our very own tree and not just one at our parents houses. I grew up with beautiful decorated trees. Crystal, gold or hand painted ornaments and really beautiful decor from my grandmother so I wanted to do something special for my very first, very own Christmas tree. I saw the ornaments n a store, they are nothing special, white, pastel, some matte some shiny.

I think it gives a nice dynamic and the shiny ones reflect the lights really nice. However I wanted the tree to be simple and „"foresty"“ is that even a word? I really love pine cones but didn't’t know how I could get them on the tree, I found some pine cones that had little clips attached but they were like 40€€ for only 5 pieces, so I went to one of my fav home decor stores and bought 20 cones for like 3€€, I also got a little craft wire and for around 5€€ I had really cute tree decor that I can re-use next year, too!

Take a pine tree, wrap the wire around the little „tails“, twist it and then fixate it on the tree!

My lovely Friend Lindsey who visited from the united states booked us a beautiful afternoon tea at the The Duchess in Amsterdam.

The duchess hosts not only a beautiful tearoom but also a bar, and a restaurant where you can experience the delicious Nouveau Niçoise Cuisine.

The etablissement is full of glamour and elegance of the Belle Époque. Our Tea was wonderful and the service was excellent.

We were served Strawberries with balsamic marinade, a various sandwiches such as Cumin seed flatbread with smoked salmon, Wellington with chicken and duxelle and “caviar” or Grilled Focaccia with tomato salsa and iberico ham. Quiche with shrimps and leek with herb salad, Kingcrab with mango chutney Croquettes.

Scones with Clotted cream, orange marmalade and raspberry marmalade and various sweets like, Panna cotta, Moscato D’asti and melon, Macarons, raspberry cheesecake, Cotton candy, Chocolate box with Frangelico and much more.

As usual I ordered the Milky Blue tea with my afternoon tea which is a fragrance of melted chocolate with gianduja blended with passion fruit, lychee and coconut rice together with notes of chestnut but also tried the Wedding imperial which is a Malty Assam tea with subtle notes of chocolate and caramel and the Fuji Yama, a Green tea for connoisseurs grown near mount Fuji.

I know for sure I will stop by at my next visit of Amsterdam, it was a wonderful evening with wonderful friends.
